Role Profile
Improvement Technicians are responsible for delivering and coaching improvement activities within their area of responsibility, often using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. They work across various sectors to resolve problems, prevent recurrence, and improve performance.

A: The Improvement Technician apprenticeship typically takes between 14 to 18 months, depending on the apprentice’s progress and employer needs.

A: The End Point Assessment consists of three parts:
Multiple-Choice Exam – tests core knowledge of improvement methodologies
Project Report, Presentation & Questioning – involves completing a business improvement project and presenting it
Professional Discussion – based on a completed log book
All EPA elements must be passed to successfully complete the apprenticeship.

A: Apprentices must:
Achieve Level 2 English and Maths (if not already held) before progressing to the EPA
Complete a log book and project portfolio during the apprenticeship
Be eligible for reasonable adjustments if they have special considerations or additional needs

Funding Band: £4,000
Government support is available for eligible employers and apprentices
Non-levy employers typically contribute 5% (£200) towards training and assessment costs
