Role Profile
Teaching Assistants support the class teacher to enhance learners’ progress and development either in groups or individually. They work across all age ranges and settings including primary, secondary, special schools, and further education institutions. They help learners understand their work, promote positive learning behaviours, and support those with special educational needs and vulnerabilities.

A: The Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship typically takes 18 months to complete.

A: The End Point Assessment includes two key components:
Observation with Questions – a workplace observation lasting a minimum of 110 minutes, followed by 4 structured questions
Professional Discussion – a 90-minute discussion based on a portfolio of evidence, covering 10 questions
✅ Both elements must be successfully passed to complete the apprenticeship.

Achieve Level 2 English and Maths (if not already held)
Compile a portfolio of evidence for the EPA
Be eligible for reasonable adjustments if they have special considerations or additional learning needs

Funding Band: £7,000
Government funding is available for eligible employers and apprentices
Non-levy employers are typically required to contribute 5% (£350) unless fully funded
