Role Profile
Improvement Practitioners lead the delivery of change across organisational functions and processes using Lean, Six Sigma, project and change management principles. They identify opportunities, diagnose issues, propose solutions, and implement sustainable improvements.

A: The Improvement Practitioner apprenticeship typically takes 14 to 18 months to complete, depending on the employer and the apprentice’s progress.

A: The EPA consists of three assessed components:
Multiple-Choice Exam – testing applied knowledge of improvement tools and techniques
Project Report, Presentation & Questioning – based on a completed improvement project
Professional Discussion – supported by a log book completed throughout the apprenticeship
All elements must be passed to successfully complete the apprenticeship.

A: Apprentices must:
Achieve Level 2 English and Maths (if not already held) before progressing to the EPA
Complete a log book and project portfolio during the apprenticeship
Be eligible for reasonable adjustments if they have special considerations or additional needs

Funding Band: £6,000
Eligible employers may receive government support towards training and assessment costs
Non-levy employers are typically required to contribute 5% (£300) of the total cost
