  • A: The Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship typically takes 24 months to complete, depending on the learner’s pace and employer support.

  • A: The End Point Assessment includes three components:

    • Observation – of day-to-day practice in a real working environment

    • Professional Discussion – structured discussion to assess knowledge, skills, and behaviours

    • Portfolio Review – evaluation of a completed portfolio of evidence

    ✅ All elements must be passed to successfully complete the apprenticeship.

  • A: Before taking the EPA, apprentices must:

    • Complete all approved qualifications set out in the standard

    • Achieve Level 2 English and Maths (if not already held)

    • Submit a portfolio of evidence compiled during the apprenticeship

  • A:

    • Funding Band: £9,000

    • Government funding is available for eligible learners and employers

    • Non-levy employers usually contribute 5% (£450) unless full funding applies

  • A: Apprentices can progress to:

    • Level 6 Early Years Pedagogical Lead

    • Management roles in nurseries, pre-schools, or other early years settings

    • Further education in child development, early years education, or teaching
