What Are Apprenticeship Units?
Apprenticeship Units are shorter, targeted training programmes focused on specific workplace skills. They are designed to complement full apprenticeships — not replace them.
Employers can use these units to address immediate skills gaps, increase workforce capability, and improve productivity without the long-term commitment of a complete apprenticeship. Funding is accessed through the Growth and Skills Levy.
"These units give us the agility to upskill our welders and fitters precisely where we need it — without taking them out of production for months."
— Engineering Employer, West Midlands
