This qualification is designed for learners who are working, or would like to work, in an administrative support role within any sector or industry. It is ideal for those who are new to the role or who have been working at that level for a short period of time. Administration Assistants are organised, adaptable and professional individuals who help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of business operations.

What will I learn?

This qualification covers a wide range of topics designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge to succeed as an Administration Assistant. You will learn key areas such as:

 FAQs

  • There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however, learners should be aged 16 or over. Entry to the programme is at the discretion of the training centre. Employers must provide suitable opportunities for apprentices to develop and demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and behaviours.

  • The programme runs for either 12 months (standard route) or TBC months (fast track).

    Apprentices must complete a minimum of TBC hours of off-the-job training in line with apprenticeship funding requirements. Employers must provide protected time during working hours for this training.

  • Off-the-Job Training is a key requirement for all apprenticeships. It refers to any learning undertaken during working hours that is directly relevant to the apprenticeship standard. Apprentices on the Level 2 Administration Assistant programme must complete a minimum of TBC hours of off-the-job training, and employers are required to provide protected time during the working week for this essential development.

  • The End-Point Assessment is the final stage of the apprenticeship. It is an independent assessment designed to test the knowledge, skills, and behaviours the apprentice has developed throughout the Level 2 Administration Assistant programme. The EPA typically includes a professional discussion, a project presentation, and a review of the portfolio of evidence. Further details regarding assessment arrangements will be confirmed in line with the published assessment plan.


  • Funding is available for both levy and non-levy employers. The cost will be confirmed upon application. Please contact our team to discuss your specific funding options and eligibility, including whether you can access government co-investment for this administration apprenticeship.


  • The typical duration for the standard on-programme route is 12 months. A fast-track option is also available for the Administration Assistant apprenticeship, subject to prior learning, experience and employer agreement in line with apprenticeship funding rules.

    Accredited CPD – Fire Safety Awareness Training
    Apprentices also complete an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course in Fire Safety Awareness, designed to strengthen their understanding of safe working practices. The course:

    • Is independently CPD accredited

    • Aligns with current UK fire safety legislation and guidance

    • Develops awareness of fire risks and prevention measures

    • Promotes safe evacuation and emergency response procedures

    • Supports employers in meeting their statutory fire safety responsibilities

    This additional training strengthens workplace safety awareness and contributes positively to organisational compliance.
