What apprenticeships does High Ridge Training offer?
We deliver 22 courses: 18 apprenticeship standards from Level 2 to Level 5 and 4 short apprenticeship units, across six sectors: engineering, transport and logistics, protective services, business administration, sales, marketing and procurement and education and childcare.
Who can do an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are open to people aged 16 and over who live in England and are employed, or about to be employed, in a role that matches the apprenticeship. They suit school leavers, career changers and existing staff who want to upskill. See our information for apprentices.
How long does an apprenticeship take?
Most of our apprenticeships take between 12 and 20 months, with technical engineering programmes taking longer. Fast track options from 8 months are available on many programmes, subject to prior learning, experience and employer agreement in line with apprenticeship funding rules.
How are apprenticeships funded?
Levy and non-levy employer funding is available. Levy-paying employers use their levy funds, and smaller employers receive government support towards training costs. Our team confirms exactly what applies to your business. Read our apprenticeship funding guide for 2026 or visit information for employers.
Do apprentices need English and maths qualifications?
Not always. For apprentices aged 19 and over, English and maths are optional, and support is available for anyone who wants to work towards them. Find out more in our guide: Do apprentices need English and maths?
How is apprenticeship training delivered?
Training combines learning in the workplace with off-the-job training from a dedicated tutor, delivered through a blend of remote sessions and workplace visits depending on the programme. Every apprenticeship ends with an end-point assessment (EPA).
What are apprenticeship units?
Apprenticeship units are short, government-backed Level 2 courses lasting between 1 and 16 weeks, with no end-point assessment. We offer units in electrical fitting and assembly, mechanical fitting and assembly, battery manufacturing, welding (mechanised). Learn more about apprenticeship units.
